Keelys Obituary ~ December 14th 2009 - June 30th 2011

Peacefully in her Mommy & Daddy’s arms Keely ended her battle with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1. Left to cherish all her beautiful memories are her Mommy Tammy Point & Daddy Scott Miles-Hill, Big Sister Shaely and Big Brothers Austin and Jordan. Grandparents Valinda Point, Don & Louise Hill, Papa Robert Point and predeceased by Nana Vivien Point who will take care of her in Heaven. Keely’s Aunties and Uncles who will miss her dearly, Nicki, Alisha & Darrell, Becky & Ronnie, Craig & Hayli, Kyle, Kristine & Ed, Miles & Pam, Lori & Richard & many great aunts & uncles. Keely will also be sadly missed by all her many cousins who loved her so much. Keely was greatly cared for and loved so much by our family at the McMaster Children’s Hospital in the Pediatric Critical Care Unit and will be truly missed by all along with her home care nurses Leah, Melissa & Amanda. Keely will be resting at her home at 7493C Indian Line Road. Visitations will be held on Friday July 1^st at 7:00pm & Saturday July 2^nd at 6:00pm with funeral to be held at her home on Sunday July 3^rd at 10:00am with burial to follow to Stoneridge Church.

We now have our very own angel to watch over and protect us as she runs free.

KEELY ~ BEAUTIFUL & GRACEFUL

Keely was a very happy, intelligent, humoress, wise beyond her years 18 month old precious little girl! Anyone that knew her can well agree upon this. If asked to describe Keely all replies would be similar from each and every one. No one ever forgot her most beautiful eyes that could light up a room. These eyes were the windows to her soul and could say a million words in just one glance. You could not sneak into a room without her noticing you and following you with her beautiful eyes. They were true angel eyes and a little piece of heaven all in their own. Keely liked to put on a show quite often and was always the centre of attention. Right from her very own living room & bedroom to whichever room she was in the PCCU at MAC. She would laugh at you if she thought you were funny and she would roll her eyes at you if she was not interested. To know her was to love her and she had tremendous love shown no matter where she was. She brought that out in many people in her short, beautiful, brave life. She was very vocal, smiley and loved to sing and dance. With a little acapella, Little shrug of her shoulder, bob of her head up and down and a raise of the eyebrows she could make anyone laugh! Her favorite shows to watch were Strawberry Shortcake, Mickey Mouse Club House and Backyardigans. She was the boss of the living room television and the pvr is full of her shows. When daddy wanted to watch hockey she either yelled at him and got mad to turn her show back or she would fall asleep. Keely loved to be held and she especially loved to be spun around and danced with me singing to her, I did the best waltz with her I knew how to do. If it wasnt me singing and dancing it was Daddy running in the room doing the hotdog dance along with Mickey Mouse and if he wasnt it the room when it came on she looked for him. Keely liked to play constantly and loved non stop attention. Her brothers and sister were the most funniest people in her life and she always looked for them or would get excited when they got to the hospital to see her or got home from school. I was greeted with smiles every morning when I walked into her room and she made me feel so special everyday. At such a young age she knew how to make you feel special and taught the true meaning of love and how love really feels. She taught that no matter what happens to you in life to be positive and brave. Keely was such a special part of our lives and everyone who entered! For anyone who didnt have the grace to meet her I hope these pages can help you imagine just a bit of the love we were blessed with for 18 months and 16 days of our lives.

Just A Little Note........

As a mother I write this blog to share my personal life experience of loving, caring & losing a terminally ill child and what is every mothers worst nightmare. It is a journey that I am travelling bound with determination, fear, compassion and hope and a journey that will forever change the person that I am and the person I will one day be. I share my own personal thoughts and feelings within these pages not to seek praise or pity but to show that a strong bond of love and resilience can get you through some of the most difficult times. Out of my 30 years of life I have learned some of lifes biggest lessons through my infant daughter. Strength and bravery doesnt just show up on your doorstep because you want or need it, it comes with a package, a package that I would trade anyday. Any strength that I have endured through all of this was not at will but simply through acts of love and I owe it all to my precious Keely Louise.
